Himalayan Wild Brown Bear Intrusion Detection System Using AI & IOT Technologies For Villages of Ladakh

Ongoing AI & ML

Project Description

The Himalayan Wild Brown Bear Intrusion Detection System is an AI and IoT powered solution designed to protect the villages of Ladakh from frequent human-wildlife conflicts. Wild brown bears often enter settlements in search of food, causing damage to property, livestock, and posing threats to human safety. This system uses smart IoT sensors, thermal cameras, and AI-based image recognition to detect the presence and movement of bears near villages in real time. Once detected, automated alerts are sent to villagers and local authorities through mobile notifications, alarms, or community alert systems, enabling timely preventive actions. By combining technology with traditional knowledge, the system reduces risks, safeguards rural livelihoods, and fosters coexistence between humans and wildlife in the fragile Himalayan ecosystem.
